For medical school in the Philippines

This book is a worthwhile purchase to add to your study material collection if you are preparing for the NMAT exam; for medical school in the Philippines. There is a practice test and a large section of notes for these subjects; Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chem, Physics, Social Science. Each subject has pages of content to study from.

However there a few topics that are missing, for example: Verbal, Inductive Reasoning, Quantitative, and Perceptual Acuity. This review book only contains the Part II subjects of the exam. Another downside of this book is the grammatics. However, this issue can be overlooked if you can manage to reconstruct what is being read.

helpful for the NMAT. Definitely do this months BEFORE the exam and not the night before. It's a good representation for what will be on the exam. OTOH, if you prepare for MCAT you will be more than fine.

I remember there are some errors with grammar, but it's good for preparation, because even the actual NMAT had grammar errors!

very enjoyable

I saw a lot of reviews screaming about how unoriginal this was...earth to readers....lol....JAK is NOT original. She is formula, but it is a formula we so enjoy. All her males are deceptive mild on outside, very controled inside; they are Alpha Males underneath and don't you think otherwise. They are green, grey or amber eyed. She is not that pretty, but very vivacious, a forceful personality and is used to getting her own way. Generally, she has been hurt, maybe he has been hurt or both, and one side of their family - close kissing cousins of the Adams Family - will drive them nuts. Every book has their share of quirky characters, and lots of rapier repartee, mostly centre around a mystery that forces the leads together.
There!! I just reviewed EVERY JAK book every written...however, have you ever looked at Nora Roberts?? You are talking formula again. Lets face it - out side of Maggie Davis with her Out of the Blue and Last Male Virgin - most stories have already been written dozens of times. It is what the writer DOES with the story. JAK does very well. Just we sort of know her too well so the razzle-dazzle is a bit expected, so we are let down. When someone yells BOO! you jump the first time. 5th time it's the same fightful BOO!, but you go yeah yeah...
I really enjoyed Flash. Not as much as Wildest Hearts, Deep Waters or Absolutely, Positively, but I really enjoyed it.
Olivia Chantry is a messy bessy in the desk department, but she is a one woman dynamo in her business Light Fantastic. The Chantry family (the pains in the bums this go around) expected her to inherit and run her uncle's business Glow, Inc. when he dies. Instead, he was in money troubles and sold the 51% of the stock to Jasper Sloan. Naturally, they are at loggerheads about how to run the business, with Olivia not likely she is 49% owner, but they have little time to iron this out, before a blackmailer strikes. They are forced to reveal all to each other and work together to stop the blackmailer.
Formula, formula, formula...JAK trademark all the way...but this dog and and pony show is one well polished rendition....

Lacklustre

Jayne Ann Krentz seems definitely on the path of Mainsteam Women Fiction. The romance in her latest is very very ultra-lite. I have no idea what the main characters look like at all!
The wit, the humour, and the suspense are there, but everything seems so fimiliar after a while. And the suspense isn't even strong to begin with, hence my interest begins to wane after a while.
And for $7.99, this book isn't worth the price.

why would I pay almost $18 for a kindle version of a JAK book from the 1990's? Her latest release only costs $11! It is a good read and I would give the story 4 stars, but the ebook price is rediculous.
Pick this one up in paperback for half to one third the price if you can't get it from a used book store.

I liked the lead characters so much- Anusha and Jai. Anusha is an introvert, a twenty four year old who finds it difficult to open up to people easily, and let them get close. She goes into a defensive state and retreats to a shell when people try to get overly familiar with her. I can so relate to that. But she is lively, unpretentious and feels comfortable to be around Jai. He makes her feel safe to be herself, to put down those walls she has build consciously around herself. And Jai, despite being a business tycoon is very down to earth, who enjoys life’s simple pleasures and takes heart in giving his time and care to the woman he likes. And I love them together- Jai- the dashing and debonair, and Anusha- the refreshingly real and passionate.

Their war of words is so fun to read, and the quips in the long conversations would make readers want for more. I like their sweet talks about shared common interests and fiery debates about conservation of heritage, equally. The cute moments at the cup cake stall in the carnival are my favorite. Who wouldn’t fall for a guy who willingly helped manning the cup cakes stall, made elaborate preparations for a date and put a lot of effort to make you feel special every waking moment?

Besides the usual romantic lovey-dovey tale, the story does have a message for the readers. It raises a very serious question- Whether development and progress at the stake of obliterating the past is justified?

I want to help Anusha when she takes to baking with a vengeance, when she does it to calm her stressed mind. I want to accompany her when she’s browsing books in the local bookstore and lingering over a cup of coffee to lift her spirits. Read the novella to know the drama between the ‘firebrand’ activist and the ‘hotshot’ capitalist.

The Activist and The Capitalist is a well written romance where opposites attract and clash.Jai and Anusha have very different opinions on almost everything and yet they are bound by a connection much stronger than their diffrences.They first fall in love at first sight on a magical moonlight.Fate forces them to separate before they can learn anything about each other and when they meet years later they discover that Jai is the crass capitalist developing Rasa Vihar, the heritage building that Anusha and her NGO are fighting to protect. The romance progressed in a comfortable and realistic pace. Jai is a charming hero who woos Anusha all over when he meets her again.Anusha is an introvert who to her surprise begins to feel comfortable with Jai despite their differences. The thing I loved the most was that the story got better as it progressed. The initial few chapters were a little unevely paced but it picks up after the first few chapters. Anusha and Jai share a connection which makes their story even more enjoyable. The conflict is well constructed and believable.

Overall, an enjoyable romance with an endearing couple who make you believe that opposites do attract!

A charming love story

The Activist and the Capitalist is a beautiful romantic tale between Jai, a capitalist and Anusha, an activist. It is based on the old age concept of "opposites attract". Jai and Anusha are as different from each other as chalk and cheese. They fight, argue and clash, but there is a mysterious force at play which brings them back to each other time and again.

The chemistry between Jai and Anusha is sizzling, charming and endearing. Their sweet conversations as well as their heated arguments are a treat to read. The narration of the book is so beautiful that you can read it in one go. Very fast paced, humorous and romantic, this romance novella is a charmer.

However, I felt there were some loose ends in the book, especially before the climax, which hindered the flow of the story. Nevertheless, the climax is saccharine enough to make you forget about all the loose ends.
