After reading the first Rose among thorns, I was so inspired & able to relate I had "A rose among Thorns" tattooed on my arm. This book seemed too fictitious. This book came years after the original so the readers of the first one are older/matured in age & being one of those readers, this book didn't quiet appeal to me like the first. I'm going to read on everything I love. I hope I like!

About the Author
Kenneth Anderson is a professor of international law at Washington College of Law, American University in Washington, DC, and the author of Living with the UN. He is a visiting fellow at the Hoover Institution, where he is also a member of the Task Force on National Security and Law. Benjamin Wittes is a senior fellow in governance studies at the Brookings Institution, the codirector of the Harvard Law School–Brookings Project on Law and Security, and a member of the Hoover Institution Task Force on National Security and Law. They both live in Washington, DC.

Thoughtful and often Dead-On Accurate!

This book proves to be a wonderfully insightful analysis of Obama-era national security policy. Both major political parties and their more polarized wings are critiqued for their objections to Obama's foreign policy, which the authors identify the legal and constitutional framework for. Critiques of Obama's policies on the use of foreign and domestic intelligence and the continuation of the War on Terror from both Republicans and Democrats are considered - both are dissected and held up against the president's nuanced, and indeed thoroughly scholarly, understanding of U.S. constitutional law. Highly recommended for future historians interested in the politics of Obama's presidency or current political science instructors who wish to introduce their students to current debates over national security - whether or not one agrees with this premise, this book should make for fascinating and complex discussions for years to come.

About the Author
Sarah Spencer, who lives in Canada with her husband and two children, describes herself as an avid foodie who prefers watching the Food Network over a hockey game or NCIS! She is a passionate cook who dedicates all her time between creating new recipes, writing cookbooks, and her family, though not necessarily in that order! Sarah has had two major influences in her life regarding cooking, her Grandmother and Mama Li. She was introduced to cooking at an early age by her Grandmother who thought cooking for your loved ones was the single most important thing in life. Not only that, but she was the World’s Best Cook in the eyes of all those lucky enough to taste her well-kept secret recipes. Over the years, she conveyed her knowledge and appreciation of food to Sarah. Sarah moved to Philadelphia when her father was transferred there when Sarah was a young teenager. She became close friends with a girl named Jade, whose parents owned a Chinese take-out restaurant. This is when Sarah met her second biggest influence, Mama Li. Mama Li was Jade’s mother and a professional cook in her own restaurant. Sarah would spend many hours in the restaurant as a helper to Mama Li. Mama Li showed Sarah all about cooking Asian food, knife handling, and mixing just the right amount of spices. Along the way, Sarah developed her own style in the kitchen. She loves to try new flavors and mix up ingredients in new and innovative ways. She is also very sensitive to her son’s allergy to gluten and has been cooking gluten-free and paleo recipes for quite some time. At last, dump meals that don't ruin my low carb diet!

I've wanted to try dump recipes for a long time, but I just couldn't use most of the ones I found because they were either sweets or carb laden casseroles full of noodles and such. This is a great cookbook for those of us trying to go low carb without feeling deprived. I want to try everything I've seen so far, and I tend to be a bit picky, usually. Thanks for letting the low carb crowd get in on the dump meal craze. Very helpful book!

Must have for those with royal ancestry!

I am a big fan of Douglas Richardson. I have his prior book in this series, 'Plantagenet Ancestry'. Since I discovered that I was a direct descendent of Geoffrey Plantagenet, I am related to almost everyone in that entire book, and its a big book! In researching this book, I found out that I am also related to many Magna Charta signers. I have only had time to lightly peruse "Magna Charta Ancestry" but have already discovered many connections to my existing data. Douglas Richardson is a thorough researcher, I trust his efforts because his source citations are impeccable, and he readily states instances where there may be doubt. Since I have traced most of my direct family lines to Colonial America, Mr. Richardson's books are a great way to extend those lines back to Europe. When I do find conflicting information from material gathered from other sources, Douglas Richardson is invariably right, he is extremely careful in his research. All genealogies contain errors, but Mr. Richardson's books contain very few! I can hardly wait for the other books in this series!

Exceptional work

The organization and cross referencing are of superior quality. This cannot be overstated. The paper, printing and binding also. I purchased the work for genealogical purpose, but will find it a well-used reference to the history and (most especially) kinships of the Surety Barons and a remarkable period of English history. Whether I've baronial ancestry or not. I look forward to reading other work from this author.
