About the Author
Constantino Carlos Reyes-Aldasoro (BSEE UNAM, Mexico, MSc Imperial College London, UK, PhD Warwick, UK) is an interdisciplinary scientist with skills that span from microscopy to image analysis of biomedical data sets to advanced computer programming. His teaching experience is also wide ranging from Engineering, Physics and Computing to Medicine and Radiology. His research concentrates on Biomedical Image Analysis of Cancer, Microcirculation and Inflammation. He has published numerous journal/conference papers in both Biological and Engineering fields, which have been cited in more than 500 publications. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and executive committee member of the British
Association for Cancer Research.

Finally a single mom story I can relate to! The Night of Misbehaving is a cracking great short story which covered all of the emotions you usually only have time for in a full length story.

Super Mum and Sexy Dad aka Georgia and Brent meet up on a date supposedly organised thru internet dating but what Georgia doesnt realize is that Brent demands he go in the place of his sleezy business partner. Brent and Georgia know each other through their kids play group. Georgia is known as the super fast and reliable and organised mom and Brent is known as Sexy Dad among the moms because hes hot, actually hotter than hit really and totally single dad.

Unfortunately when super mom relises who her date is shes ready to up and leave because Sexy Dad rejected her best friend without a second thought so caught between loyalty and total embarrassment about internet dating shes out the door! So why does Sexy Dad chase after Georgia and four chapter's later youre going WOW??? Well im not going to spoil it but lets just say there was lots of twists and turns and the heat had the story melting!

A super fun read. I laughed and laughed at the authors humour. I was turning on the air con to cool the room down and I sadly sighed during the twists and turns. This story has the bones if a full length novel minus all the fill ins that make a full length story so youre left with the good bits and the parts you want to read. The story flowed and like the authors comments noted (yes im a book geek I read all the comments) this could totally happen, the characters are realistic. Thats why i could totally relate... We all want one night of misbehaving and the way Brent tried to recall Georgia's name was totally classic and very male hahaha.

A fab short story which I would recommend to all and also made me want more from Carmen :)

There was just a little too much deceit in this one at the very beginning for my taste. I don't care how hot you are, if it ends up looking like you slept with me to get a contract at the place I work, I'm not going to forgive you easily. Perhaps if it had been a novel with more time for them to make up I would have liked it more.

I did like the characters. They were both very real - single parents just looking for someone that understands and they can have a good time with. It was nice to see such a realistic look at how they might find someone to connect with. They would have really shone in a longer format. I don't want to sound like I'm bashing novellas. I enjoy many of them, but some stories just need more pages and for me, this was one of them.

This was a quick but really enjoyable read! Georgia and Brent are two people who have known of each other from the pre-school both of their children attend. Although they have never spoken to each other, they have a misconception of who the other is. Brent decides to take the place of his business partner and go on a date with Georgia. Just like the title says, their date turns into a night of misbehaving, but oh, what fun they have. If your in need of a quick pick me up romance, then grab this book! It's sexy, fun and gives hope that you can meet your future in one night of misbehavior.

David Haber, PhD , is an assistant professor in the Gerontology Department at Western Oregon University, Monmouth, Oregon. Prior to his current affiliation he worked at several institutes of higher education.

For a decade he was the John and Janice Fisher distinguished professor of wellness and gerontology at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. For the decade prior to that, Dr. Haber was a professor at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Before that he served as the director of the Center for Healthy Aging, at Creighton University’s multidisciplinary shopping mall–based geriatric center in Omaha, Nebraska.

His early academic and research career included positions at the University of the District of Columbia; the University of South Florida, Tampa; and the University of Southern California, where he also received his PhD in sociology from the Andrus Gerontology Center.

Dr. Haber is a fellow in the Gerontological Society of America, and he is recognized for two Best Practice Awards from the National Council on Aging, the Distinguished Teacher Award from the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education, and the Molly Mettler Award for Leadership in Health Promotion from the National Council on Aging.

The third edition of this book, Health Promotion and Aging, was selected for the 2004 Book of the Year Award by theAmerican Journal of Nursing in two categories: Gerontologic Nursing, and Community and Public Health. Dr. Haber also authored Health Care for an Aging Society.

Dr. Haber has authored 87 academic publications and has been project director or principal investigator of 20 research or demonstration grants related to health and aging. Typically, these applied projects involved gerontology and health professional students leading community health promotion ventures with older adults. Dr. Haber’s current interest in life is cat therapy with frail elders.

I love someone from India and getting to know a bit ...

Paratha is a new term for me, so the concept is fresh too. I have a grand time reading this book because it made me understand a part of the Indian culture more. I love someone from India and getting to know a bit of his culture and life is very important for me. This book has some amazing recipes too. I hope to try them so that I will feel a little closer to India. It has been a very nice time reading this.

This cookbook is amazing and helpful. By the help of this book I have learned about Indian Paratha recipes. I heard this kind recipe name before, but did not know the main recipe. Last week my friend suggested me about this book and I did not late to purchase this book.
I am a food lover and I always like to read a recipe book. It is true that Paratha is a very special and most popular Indian breakfast recipe. a good primer for the beginner

This is a great book to get you started on more serious writing about paleoanthropology. Shreeve gives consideration to many theories without taking sides. His writing is clear & easy-going. I would have loved more illustrations & maps.

A good, if dated, primer on Neanderthals

I'm a big paleoanthro geek, and I rather liked this when it came out. It's smart and well-researched. The writing can be a little dense, but it works. One caveat, however: Parts look rather data today. In particular is Shreeve's insistence that modern humans would've been so repulsed by Neanderthals' presumed ugliness that there is no way they mated with them. It was a silly notion then and demonstrably wrong now. Other than that, this is still a good read and primer on my favorite member of the hominid family.

Not just about Neandertals

The best thing about this book is that it is not just about Neandertals or Human origins. It covers enough from peripheries of science and the humanities as well as detailed natural history to make it accessible and interesting to anyone who has the slightest interest in this confusing subject.
Though Shreve identifies the complex issues allowing us to doubt everything, the book is far from confusing and there is an enormous amount of travel and biographical notes of the people he has met that Shreve has marshalled in. By all accounts this was an expensive and time consuming book to put together and almost no stone has been left unturned.
I think the fascination with this topic is because it asks the big question - What makes us human? Fortunately, though many answers are offered, Shreve takes care not to make any dogmatic assertion and provides a balanced overview of all the ideas, key workers and key debates.
As a student, I liked the way he discussed the basics of the biological species concept showing how difficult separating species can be at times, especially if using fossils. He also shows us how lots of ideas can be manufactured only to be holed by later workers or evidence.
Most of the book is very fluid. My only criticism is the lack of more illustrations of neandertals - perhaps in colour and a lack of any detail on the classic illustration showing Ramapithecus leading to Cromagnon which has been shown so many times, though this famous picture is discussed.
I think this book shows what science is not. It is not about a solution to the problem that you can believe and cling to. Rather, it is a provisional statement of current understanding and if it seems to explain things, all the better (speaking in the context of human origins).
So many people and ideas are mentioned that this is true journalism, no holes barred, sharp, comical, witty and above all accessible.
I thouroughly recommend it to anyone.

Bunny Berigan was one of the magnificent jazz soloists of the 1930s. After arriving in New York from Wisconsin, his yeoman work in the recording studios and brief but significant stints with the bands of Benny Goodman and Tommy Dorsey led to milestone recordings and enough notoriety for the star trumpeter to start his own big band. The band's failure can be attributed to Berigan's ignorance of how the business worked, and probably to his concurrent and increasingly destructive alcoholism, which led to his death at the age of only 33. This encyclopedic volume painstakingly documents Berigan's entire life and career. Zirpolo built on Robert Dupuis's commendable Bunny Berigan: Elusive Legend of Jazz (CH, Jul'93, 30-6086), and he benefits from extensive research completed since that time, particularly a collection of materials gathered by "Bozy" White. The amount of detail in Zirpolo's account may be overwhelming for a casual reader (extended notes profile many figures of the swing era), but serious fans and scholars will appreciate this definitive biography. The White materials are also scheduled to lead to a biodiscography--a discography being notably absent from the present volume. Summing Up: Highly recommended. This is an especially pleasant opportunity when a book exceeds the already high expectations that one may have had in advance of publication....This book is the comprehensive and indispensable biography of Roland Bernard "Bunny" Berigan. The author is Michael Zirpolo.

Anyone interested in Bunny Berigan, his contemporaries, jazz and big band history will be riveted to this book from the moment that they open it. Michael Zirpolo has captured the essence of his subject. Not only does Michael's love and respect for Bunny create a very enjoyable read, his attention to detail and precision result in a most informative, thorough and balanced tour-de-force. The biography includes numerous previously unpublished photographs and a comprehensive broadcast discography.

Michael Zirpolo has captured the story of Bunny Berigan in an entertaining and informative read. I will not go on and give away all the details or the plot but suffice to say that there are revelations and surprises. My personal experience has been that with this book my understanding of an essential personality and talent of jazz and big band history has come to life in way that my superficial and anecdotal knowledge of the man from other accounts and recordings had never done justice to. About the Author
Michael Zirpolo has been a practicing attorney since 1975. He has written numerous articles and presented many times on jazz musicians and the development of jazz from 1925 to 1960. He has served as a guest on radio programs and has digitally remastered vintage jazz recordings.

Bunny Berigan

I loved this book on Bunny Berigan life and work as a jazz artist.it brought to life what Bunny was as a jazz trumpet player in the big band era.The writer Michael P Zipolo took great care to uncover the truth about Bunny Berigan and made it so very interesting.I also got a lot out his book because Bunny being my Grandfather ,i got a chance to get to know him through this great book. If you are a fan of Bunny Berigan music, this is a must. No matter how much you think you know about Bunny Berigan, you will learn a lot more from this Michael Zirpolo book. I had been reading anything and everything I could find on Bunny Berigan for 50 years and I learned a lot new from this book. A must for Bunny Berigan fans or anyone who loves great jazz music.

I used this book to review all of the chemistry required for the GAMSAT. Its fantastic - easy to read interspersed with great examples throughout. My only dig is that's its a bit dry in its coverage of the subject. But when you want to get through topics fast, I prefer a book without much waffle, and this one fits the bill.
